As 2026 approaches, the Cliniqon CSR Team is dedicated to launching a meaningful initiative to support the flood-affected school in Dematapitiya, located near the Deduru Oya River, Sri Lanka’s sixth-largest basin.
In November 2025, Cyclone Ditwah caused deadly rains, flooding, and landslides across Sri Lanka, with over 400 lives lost. The Deduru Oya river flooded significantly, damaging agricultural lands and destroying households, prawn farm, temples, schools in Puttalam District.
The Dematapitiya school was severely impacted, with floodwaters ruining band instruments, library cupboards, and books. In response, the Cliniqon Biotech Team generously donated Western and Eastern musical instruments and new library cupboards to help restore hope and resources for the children.
